Tai Zhang Dao logo
To the Chinese people, bamboo is the symbol of moral integrity, resistance, modesty and loyalty. The rock is solidity and endurance. Water is energy and stillness. These are the virtues of the Windmill Warrior

Tai Zhang Dao (TZD)

A New Way of Personal Protection Using a Cane

We do not teach you how to defend yourself, but instead, we emphasize how to defeat your opponent using a combination of deception, distraction, and first strike capability. You will learn some of the Tai Chi secrets of how to move your body and maximize the power of your strikes. And best of all, you will do this without involving hand to hand, close-quarter combat techniques.

The TZD style is ideal for seniors and travelers, yet very suitable for people of all ages.

“The purpose of fighting is to win.
There is no possible victory in defense.
The sword is more important than the shield,
and skill is more important than either.
The final weapon is the brain.
All else is supplemental.
–John Steinbeck
